Heavy handed licensing

I’ve only been on my restricted NZ bike license so far. This is fine in NZ but it’s an essential to have my full license for the trip as I don’t want a license that causes us issues at borders or with police officers or anything else.

Given the usual time frame to get your full in NZ is 18 months and that’s less than a month before I leave I didn’t want that drama if I didn’t pass first time. So I did the CBTA test; I was quite nervous as in my mind it seemed like a crux hurdle for the whole trip.

Apart from a “heavy hand” and an instance of being too close on a following distance I got the job done. Oh, and the non-standard exhaust I apparently had which made my bike non-LAMS approved but the guy was super nice about it. I totally recommend Two Bald Bikers, I did the Ride Forever Silver with them too, and they were full of good advice and nice guys to boot!

Whoop whoop!!
